How to Install Bluetooth® in Your Genesis Model

Every Genesis model comes standard with Bluetooth® technology so you can wirelessly connect your smartphone to the system. This functionality allows you to access your phone's music, audiobooks, podcasts, and more as you cruise the streets of Cerritos, Long Beach, and Anaheim. Plus, you can choose from your contacts and make phone calls without removing your hands from the wheel.

This handy guide from the team at Norm Reeves Genesis will teach you step by step how to install Bluetooth® in your Genesis model so you can enjoy full connectivity. Let's get started!

How to Install Bluetooth® in Your Genesis

Before you begin, make sure your car's shifter is in park.

  1. Find the button on your dashboard that says PHONE, and push it.
  2. Use the central control knob to select YES on your dashboard display screen.
  3. Activate Bluetooth® on your smartphone. If you're unsure how to do this, you'll want to check your phone's owner's manual.
  4. Once the phone finds the device called Genesis, select it to connect.
  5. The system may prompt you with a Passkey, which you'll have to enter into your phone before it will connect.
  6. On the dashboard display of the Genesis, you'll get a confirmation that your phone has been successfully connected.
  7. Your phone may prompt a phone book access request. For ease of use, select Always allow/don't ask again.
  8. If you'd like to give your phone the highest priority over other connected phones, select YES when prompted.

How to Install Additional Phones

Once you've successfully paired your own smartphone with the infotainment system in your vehicle, you may want to connect additional phones, as well. The process of connecting is much the same. Here are the steps you'll need to take to connect an additional phone to the system.

  1. Press the PHONE button on the dashboard.
  2. Your Genesis will attempt to connect to the last paired phone. While it connects, use the central control knob to select CANCEL on the screen.
  3. Press the PHONE button again.
  4. Select ADD NEW on the display screen.
  5. Activate Bluetooth® on your smartphone.
  6. Once the phone finds the device called Genesis, select it to connect.
  7. The system may prompt you with a Passkey, which you'll have to enter into your phone before it will connect.
  8. On the dashboard display of the Genesis, you'll get a confirmation that your phone has been successfully connected.
  9. Your phone may prompt a phone book access request. For ease of use, select Always allow/don't ask again.
