Recommended Romantic Restaurants in LA

If you're looking to indulge in an evening of fine dining in a cozy and romantic setting, you'll find a variety of upscale options to choose from in Los Angeles. This is a city of restaurants that value a glamorous atmosphere, unique menu offerings, and is also full of dinner ideas for two. This is our list of our top recommended romantic restaurants in LA, listed in alphabetical order.

Cliff's Edge

The son of a French immigrant, Chef Michael Bryant was inspired to pursue a career in cooking after observing his mother's passion for it as a child. Starting as a dishwasher at the age of 15, Bryant was able to work his way up through the ranks of the kitchen, getting his first position as a head chef at just 20 years old. Located in LA's silver lake neighborhood, Cliff's Edge serves up Bryant's dishes, which he describes as simple, soulful, and local. On the dinner menu, you'll find a selection of rustic yet elegant dishes to savor, such as perfectly cooked and seasoned brussels sprouts, a variety of seafoods, and more traditional European offerings such as boiled bone marrow.

The Little Door

This artisanal Parisian-style café offers a romantic courtyard setting that's helped it achieve the rating of Most Romantic Restaurant in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Times. Impress your sweetie with an indulgent taste of Mediterranean cuisine, starting with Chef Blanchet's smoked fish platter, featuring salmon, sturgeon, white fish, trout rillettes, and other accoutrements. Next, choose an appetizer, such as the spicy steamed black mussels & Ras el hanout broth. Opt for a decadent entrée, like the pine nut & mustard-crusted rack of lamb, Madeira wine, smoked garlic, and black olive jus. If you can, finish with the chef's dessert du jour at The Little Door.

Lucques

Chef Suzanne Goin opened the Lucques restaurant in 1998, and is now recognized as one of the best restaurants in the country. Goin is committed to using the freshest ingredients available, and has received a variety of awards, including the prestigious Outstanding Chef of the Year 2016 award from the James Beard Foundation. The restaurant's menu is as delicious as it is simple, and you'll find just a small selection of perfectly curated dishes to choose from. Drop in on a Sunday night to experience Goin's famous Sunday Supper, offering a pre-set menu specially selected and prepared by Goin herself, that changes each week and focuses especially on seasonal ingredients.
